I read snippets of stories from various platforms this week and would like to share thoughts on a few that struck a chord.
At some point in life we all leave home as a way to assert ourselves as grownups. For some it is an easy transition. Sian enjoys living alone and thinks that coming home to an empty house is a great feeling as it is an opportunity for her to recharge. Living alone, like travelling solo, helps with self-reliance.
She also thinks that women are the creatives in a man’s world. I think she might be right. Do you agree?
THOUGHTS ON THE HIKING DUO
Hahn is blind, enjoys hiking and found a partner Knecht who can’t walk. Their mutual interest in hiking brought them together. She is his eyes and he her legs when they go hiking. A formidable partnership and teamwork in spite of disabilities I think.
Often common interests bring people closer. Find yours, grow and become the best version of yourself.
The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘’I have no need of you,’’ nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”
1 Corinthians 12 verse 21. The GIDEONS
TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT
This is a controversial one.
I made a comment about not being sure whether to cry or laugh after watching a video that was shared on a platform. The video is a recount about eating meat produced from a lab. The point being animals do not have to be killed to satisfy our meat cravings. So what are your thoughts about eating meat produced from a lab using cells taken from the animal you wanted to eat?
It tastes like meat, looks like meat, smells like meat, it must be meat right? Sometimes, we laugh to keep from crying.
THOUGHTS ON SECRET TO LONGEVITY
When asked about the secret to longevity, a 111-year-old man remarked that having a job you enjoy doing increases longevity. Basically, doing what you love is key to longevity. I think I would listen because at a hundred plus years old, he must know what he is about and if you hate your job, maybe try to balance it with a hobby?
“Have three hobbies. One that keeps you in shape. One that keeps you creative and one that makes you money.”
Not quite sure who the quote above is from but it is a wise one.
That’s all folks. Keep doing life and be the best you can be every time.
