What a heart-warming experience it is to hear of mistakes with happy endings and even a powerful finish! This is especially so when it is unexpected. Usually, we feel badly about errors and wish we could undo them. I hope this post causes you and I to see past our errors and to keep going.
Errors aren’t always lousy. Some are beneficial and didactic! Others might even make one famous. Talk about grace!
Some mistakes with a powerful finish
Tsarina Maria Feodorovna. You probably never heard of her until now. Neither had I prior to this story. She is said to have saved a life when she changed what had been written against a name on a list of supposed criminals and traitors.
“Pardon impossible, to send to Siberia.”
Tsarina Maria had changed the expression to “Pardon, impossible to send to Siberia”.
She saved a life by switching up commas. Did you see that? Such a little act, with profound effect. Her act warms my heart especially because it was a mistake. And what a possibility-creating error! Extending life. Marching humanity forward if you will. How lucky!
Look how valuable Post-it notes are. The creator did not realize it would become a household name selling millions in copy. Thanks, 3M. That ‘failed’ innovation isn’t at all.
I wish the results of our errors are great and positive every single time. So we always march forward without regrets. Best part is even the little acts of kindness in our interactions go a long way.
Pause and think for a moment.
We influence and are capable of so much with the content we put out there. As creators, writers and whatever we do… Sometimes, we could never imagine their effects and reach even if in error.
.
Marching forward! This month of March is special.
It is six months since starting this blog in September, 2020. It is both fun and a challenge to write and post every week. Super grateful for the opportunity to share experiences and I am thankful to you for coming along on this ride.
So here’s a thought to mark this milestone..
Relax with your preferred essential oils. Maybe even apply a few drops to your face mask. Lavender, hyssop and tea tree essential oils are relaxing and super helpful for their antiseptic properties.
‘Take a look at us now’ in Lyle the singing crocodile’s voice.
Oops!, I couldn’t help that. I love the movie.
Here’s to errors that create value and march us forward. Here’s to mistakes with powerful results and happy endings!
