“Rough winds do shake” is a quote from William Shakespeare’s Sonnets.
“…Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
…So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.”
“All’s well that ends well.”
“I love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest.”
Can you believe William Shakespeare?! Smoking or what!
Okay, I got all excited for a minute there! Let’s get to the post of the day. Shall we?
Something struck me about this story of Jesus’ disciples out at sea. They were making headway painfully because the wind was against them. Rough winds do shake things up a bit, right? So, we read that, Jesus did come to sea but was going to pass by them. Not until they cried out, did He get on the boat with them. The winds then calmed.
Now, all’s well.
Rough winds do shake things up.
I can’t help but wonder, what if He’d passed before they cried out in fright? What then? Would He have turned around? Or it would have been too late? These were not regular folks. They were the core followers. Was He really going to just pass by them? “The darling buds of…” Thanks Shakespeare!
Rough winds make big beauty.
It is comforting to know that help is available. We aren’t alone. We can call. He won’t impose. He’d much rather be invited to help! Yes, sooner is better. Of course!
Oh, and maybe, we even have to be persistent a few times?!
The sea holds many a secret, not so? Want to check how Wilhelmina thrives in THE RIVER WIDE AND A SMALL BOAT ?
Good one.

I would like to think that he would have returned if they had called after he’d passed by. He simply cared a lot.
Nice one! Thanks for Shakespeare ballad.
