Winners Don’t Let Their Struggles Hold Them Back

Winners have their struggles too but what they don’t do is let these obstacles hold them back. They persist and are rewarded.

There's the river wide holding many secrets and presenting twists and turns. 
Big boats, small boats, not so small boats. 
They all navigating the wide expanse of water.

The river wide

One boat Wilhelmina, so little and painted white stands out among the lot. The river might seem overwhelming for petite Wilhelmina to thrive as the waves rock her from side to side but she does not give up making life on water a fun experience. If she could talk, she would most likely have compelling stories to tell. Tales of near misses, travails, triumphs, and how the cuts and scars on her sides happened. What interesting tales they’d be! No doubt.
Perhaps, even reminding us to reflect and appreciate our wins and accomplishments, right? .

As with Wilhelmina, ants seem to have figured how to thrive in nature. They gather their food in summer. The little bugs have a plan and structures that work to stay alive and well. Makes me think that there are strategies to connect with nature and thrive. We take nothing for granted.

I like the Psalmist thoughts on navigating and thriving. It feels like he is sharing secrets with us.

“What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? 
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.” – Psalms 34:12-13

Winners do

Just like with ants and Wilhelmina, learning what works and doing what works are fundamental traits to connect with nature and thrive and size may not matter.

Then I think, what about wit, ingenuity, and understanding? Certainly, these are some skills to nurture in order to thrive in adversity.

What other skills might we need? How do you navigate hurdles on the path to achieving your goals in spite of weaknesses?  We all have these shortcomings, don’t we?

It helps to love what we do. The question is how far are we willing to go?
